Main Team Meeting Objective

The technical review is Friday in class! There will be feedback for each team on the website by Saturday evening. After the tech review, you'll be reflecting and preparing a next design version for the 30 minute design reviews on Monday (November 9). For this you will want to reflect upon what you have learned, prioritize, and redesign and prepare for your final build iteration. How is the prototype to be redesigned/rebuilt? Try to anticipate what materials you will need to be able to build your next version prototype next week and go ahead and put in orders for that material this week.

During this week before the technical review, obviously, you will be preparing for it.

You team should also begin thinking about your final presentation (details TBA this weekend). If you are deciding on presenters, there is a summary of selection methods used by previous teams. After the tech review, you will need to have part of your team focus on prototype improvements while others work on your final presentation design, business model and user testing, etc. The scope of the presentation ranges from the product and its technical design to customer needs, benchmarking, and a plan for how it could reach its potential market. The design and execution of the presentation is an important component of the grade.

Final presentations will be filmed in an off-campus studio. Since we cannot film all teams on Friday, some teams will need to be finished early enough to film their presentations on Thursday and some may possibly be filmed on Wednesday. The entire off-campus trip will be 4-5 hours per team, either in the morning or afternoon, and possibly evening. Only the presenters will need to go, but all team members are encouraged to go for the filming.

Advanced preparation for Team Meeting 8

Financial officers should prepare a budget status report for the team.

System integrators should meet to form an agenda that includes a review of project status and a plan for what needs to be done.

Information officers should be sure that everyone knows the link for the Zoom meeting.

What's due

The technical review, Friday, in-class, Nov 6.

Begin with the standard meeting startup. Make sure that someone is recording meeting minutes and will post the information for your team.

System integrators should present the agenda and make changes based on input from the team.

Financial officers should give a short budget update to the team.

Develop a plan for preparing for the 2-minute tech review presentation, 5-minute tech review demonstration, and advancing your design and getting in some user testing this week.

Keep the meeting portion short and spend the extra time working in task forces in your team meeting room and/or in the labs.

Additional Notes

Please keep in mind that the elections are on Tuesday, November 3. Regardless of the results, emotions may be running high post-election. Please plan for giving teammates some time and space, as needed, and for supporting each other post-election. Please stay safe and kind!
